Stitched aviation birch plywood upholstered with lamb leather
Diploma project at ENSCI les Ateliers
Gainages is a technical and visual research on new upholstery techniques.
In research of lightness, the lamb leather allows the thin aviation grade plywood to be stitched together, creating objects weighing as low as 680 grams.
As part of my work process, I made all the diploma objects myself, learning the techniques along the way. It is a way for me to empathize and better understand the work of the craftsman and craftswoman, thus creating smoother dynamics during each step of the creative process.
